It takes all kinds of people to make a successful team in business. Some are financially adept and great with numbers, some are fantastic about planning and resource management, some are creative and full of great ideas, and others are practically-minded and good at thinking on their feet. Then you get the rare human being that’s a little bit of everything, and that’s what we have in Natalie Finucan!
Natalie’s role is Inside Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator so her role is really varied, which suits her diverse skillset – she’s great at talking to customers and answering questions, she has a good grasp of the all-important numbers and in her marketing role, she’s well accustomed to coming up with ideas and campaigns to help our customers sell more products! We caught up with Natalie to find out more about her typical day…
Hi Natalie! Tell us a little bit about your role and responsibilities at Frontline?
Hello! Well, I’m the inside sales and marketing co-ordinator so it’s quite a varied role! I’m tasked with assisting the Account Managers in any sales-related administrative duties, plus organizing and maintaining the CRM program and assisting Stacy in her customer service responsibilities. I’m also responsible for increasing sales through collaborations and reach outs, and this involves working with our external marketing agency to come up with content campaigns for web, email and social platforms.
What was your professional background prior to this?
I previously worked in Customer Service in the restaurant industry.
What’s your favourite thing about your job/the print & display sector?
I had very little knowledge previously regarding the print & display sector, so coming onboard at Frontline has given me an abundance of knowledge regarding the products, customers, competitors and the industry overall. I appreciate an environment that encourages continuous learning and even after a number of years with the business, I find there is always something new to learn. This past year alone has been a huge learning curve with new products coming on board to help our customers deal with the pandemic.
What would you say are the key attributes required to perform well in your role?
I would say organization, and the ability to keep the team and accounts aligned; communication, so I can keep the team up to date on quotes, leads and tasks; creativity, and the ability to think out of the box for ways to keep accounts engaged and wanting to learn and sell our products; accountability so I can get the job done in an efficient and presentable manner; and finally leadership, because sometimes it’s necessary to step up and take the initiative when a team member is unable to complete the job.
If you didn’t work at Frontline, what would your dream job be?
I can’t say what my industry of choice would be but my ultimate dream would be to run my own business from home!
Do you have any hobbies or interests away from work? Or a favourite way to unwind?
I’m quite a sporty person – I enjoy playing recreational sports like volleyball, baseball, & basketball. I also love snowmobiling in the winter, and hanging out with friends and family any time.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that colleagues might not know?
I lived in London, England for 4 months after high school graduation as an Au Pair!
